Smart IPTV Player terms of use

Last updated:

These terms ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Kotlinlabs, trading as Kotlin Labs ("we", "us"), for your use of Smart IPTV Player for Android (the "App"), distributed through Google Play under the developer name Assraab Labs, a Kotlin Labs brand. By installing or using the App you accept these Terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App

Smart IPTV Player is a media player. It lets you organize and play playlists from sources you add yourself — an M3U/M3U8 playlist (by URL, local file or USB) or an Xtream Codes API connection — with a program guide, favorites, search and downloads.

The App does not supply or include any channels, playlists, streams, movies, series or other content, and we have no affiliation with any content provider. See the Smart IPTV Player disclaimer.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf. You must not be barred from using the App under any applicable law.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Android devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.

Your content and your provider

You are solely responsible for the content you access through the App. In particular, you agree to:

  • obtain any media service or subscription separately, from a provider that has the right to distribute it;
  • access only content you are legally entitled to access, and comply with copyright law in your country;
  • follow your provider's own terms of service;
  • keep your provider credentials secure.

We do not host, control, monitor or endorse third-party content, and we are not responsible for its legality, quality, accuracy or availability. Questions or complaints about content must be directed to your provider. Your relationship with your provider is solely between you and that provider.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the App to access, record, download or distribute content without the authorization of the rights holder;
  • resell, rebroadcast or publicly perform content accessed through the App;
  • copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • remove or obscure copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices;
  • interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, our services or our support systems;
  • use the App for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or restrict your use of the App if you seriously or repeatedly breach this section.

Price, purchase and refunds

The App is a paid app. You buy it once on Google Play; the price in your currency is shown on Google Play before you buy. The purchase is made and processed by Google Play and is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. We never receive your payment details. The App has no subscriptions, in-app purchases or ads.

  • Your purchase lets you install the App on Android devices signed in to the Google account you used to buy it, for as long as we offer and support the App on Google Play.
  • It is personal and cannot be transferred or resold.
  • Buying the App does not include any content or provider subscription; you obtain those separately.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. Google Play may allow a refund shortly after purchase, and you can request one from your Google Play order history. We may also grant refunds at our discretion — contact us if something went wrong. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or withdrawal rights you have under consumer protection law in your country.

Intellectual property

The App, including its code, design, name, icon and logos, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms. See our Copyright & DMCA policy for how to report infringement.

Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services such as Google Play and The Movie Database (TMDB) (listed in the privacy policy). Movie and series details are provided by TMDB; this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Their use is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve our apps without any obligation to you.

Updates and availability

We may update the App, and change, add or remove features, to improve it, fix problems, keep it secure or comply with the law. Some updates may be required to keep using the App. We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or compatibility with every provider, stream or device.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some countries do not allow these exclusions, so they may not fully apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or of any third-party content or service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims by third parties arising from your breach of these Terms or from content you access, record or distribute using the App.

Termination

You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) continue to apply.

Export controls

You may not use or download the App where prohibited by applicable sanctions or export-control laws, or if you are on a government list of restricted parties.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where Kotlinlabs is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.

Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@kotlinlabs.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.

General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganization, merger or sale of the App. These Terms, together with the privacy policy and the disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. For material changes we will give notice in the App or on its Google Play listing before they take effect. If you keep using the App after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
