These terms ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Kotlinlabs, trading as Kotlin Labs ("we", "us"), for your use of Salaat First for Android (the "App"), distributed through Google Play under the developer name Assraab Labs, a Kotlin Labs brand. By installing or using the App you accept these Terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App
Salaat First: Accurate Prayer times, Adhan alerts, Qibla compass & Hijri calendar for Muslims. Its features are described on its page on this website and on its Google Play listing. The App is free and is funded by ads.
Eligibility
You may use the App if you are old enough to agree to these Terms in your country, or with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Android devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.
Accuracy of information
Information in the App, such as prayer times, the Qibla direction, religious texts or reference data, is provided for guidance. We take care to present it accurately, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete, current or error-free. Prayer times are calculated from your location (or the city you choose), the calculation method and the adjustments you select, and the Qibla direction depends on your device's location and compass sensors, which can be affected by magnets, metal objects and calibration.

Ads
The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are provided by third-party advertisers; we do not control or endorse their content, products or services, and your dealings with an advertiser are solely between you and that advertiser. How ads use your data, and how you can limit personalized ads, is explained in the privacy policy. You must not interfere with ads, generate invalid clicks or impressions, or use the App to do so.
In-app purchases
The App is free to download. Some features or content may be offered as optional in-app purchases. Prices are shown in Google Play before you confirm, and all purchases are made and processed through Google Play Billing under the Google Play Terms of Service; we never receive your payment details.
- Purchases are linked to the Google account you used and can be restored on your other devices signed in to that account.
- If a purchase is a subscription, it renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. We may also grant refunds at our discretion. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or withdrawal rights you have under consumer protection law in your country.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows it;
- remove or obscure copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices;
- interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or our support systems;
- use the App for any unlawful purpose.
Intellectual property
The App, including its code, design, name, icon and logos, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Recitations, translations, data and other content provided by third parties belong to their respective owners. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services such as Google Play (listed in the privacy policy). Their use is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve our apps without any obligation to you.
Updates and availability
We may update the App, and change, add or remove features, to improve it, fix problems, keep it secure or comply with the law. Some updates may be required to keep using the App. We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and the information in it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy. Some countries do not allow these exclusions, so they may not fully apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or from reliance on information it shows, or from any ad or advertiser. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim and USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Termination
You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) continue to apply.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where Kotlinlabs is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@kotlinlabs.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganization, merger or sale of the App. These Terms, together with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. For material changes we will give notice in the App or on its Google Play listing before they take effect. If you keep using the App after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
